Dr. Kevin Jones began as our pastor in September 2010.  He has been in the ministry since 1992.  He is a graduate of Forest High School, has a B.S. from MS College, a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary. He and wife, Renee, have two sons, Houston, 16, and Reese, 10.  He enjoys hunting.

Director of Preschool and Children's Ministries

Hello. I’m Stacy Covey, Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries. My husband is Matt, my high school sweetheart. We have been married for 25 years. We have three children Gabrielle, who is married to our Mininster of Students, Catherine 18, and Tranny, 13. Matt is a brick layer.

I want you to know that as a wife and mother of three, I truly do understand the strains of everyday life and how hard it can be to try to raise a family in today’s world. I want to be of help to you and your family.

Minister of Students

Taylor Sutherland is currently serving as our Minister of Students.  He is from Richland, graduated from Mississippi College in the spring of 2010 and is continuing his Master's program.  He is married to the former Gabrielle Covey, who also grew up in Richland.

Minister of Music

We are very fortunate to have called Rev. Eddie Sirven in July 2011, to serve as our Minister of Music.  He and his wife, Robin, have four children.  Their oldest son, Christopher, is the Minister to Youth and Students in Curry, AL.  Jeremy is a student at LA Tech majoring in aviation.  Bettye-Grace is 14 and Alex is 12.  Eddie and Robin are the proud grandparents of two beautiful daughters and one handsome son.

Bro. Eddie received his Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary and is currently working on his Master's Degree.  He comes to us with a background of music since 1996.  He received his music training from Lee University in Cleveland, TN.  Robin is a Registered Nurse working at MS Baptist Hospital.

Staff Music Evangelist

Becky Brown was born in Shreveport, LA, and remained a LA resident until 2000, when she relocated to MS to begin a ministry of full time personal evangelism. She is the Founder and Keeper of Little Brown Light Ministries (www.littlebrownlight.com).

Bec calls herself a song tailor, a word weaver, a wood carver and a child of God. She felt God leading her to move to First Baptist Church of Richland in 2007. She and Isaac (her guitar) travel to Women’s Conferences, Youth Camps, Singles’ Retreats, local, national and international mission trips and many other engagements speaking and singing the Word of God.
