We are very honored and pleased to have Dr. Jerry Mixon serving as our Interim Pastor during the transition time.  He serves as the Director of Stewardship with the MS Baptist Convention Board.  He and his wife, Vicki, live in Madison.

Rev. Tim Tolleson has been our Minister of Education since August 1, 2007. Bro. Tim and his wife, Shelia, moved from Picayune, MS, where he served for 9 1/2 years. He is a graduate of Mississippi College (1986) and New Orleans Baptist Seminary (1989) with a Master of Divinity with Religious Education Major. Bro. Tim is 45 years old.

Hello. I’m Stacy Covey, Director of Preschool and Children’s Ministries. My husband is Matt, my high school sweetheart. We have been married for 25 years. We have three children Gabrielle 18, Catherine 16, and Tranny, 11. Matt is a brick layer.

I want you to know that as a wife and mother of three, I truly do understand the strains of everyday life and how hard it can be to try to raise a family in today’s world. I want to be of help to you and your family.

Bro. Josh began June 1, 2009, as our Minister of Students.  He is a former school teacher with a Bachelor of Science in Social Science Education degree.  He has taken several classes in Christian Studies.  He graduated from McLaurin High School in Star. 

He is married to Dawn Christmas.  They have two beautiful daughters, Shelby, age 11 (almost) and Chrissy, age 3.  Dawn is also a school teacher.

Bro. Josh has held a full-time position as Minister of Youth and Children at Walker Hill Baptist Church, Brandon, part-time position as Associate Pastor and Minister of Youth at Bethel Baptist in Brandon and interim position as Minister of Youth at Star Baptist in Star.

He was licensed into the ministry in 2000 and ordained in 2002.

We are very fortunate to have Rev. Larry Black as our interim Minister of Music and Worship during the process of replacing the full-time position.  Bro. Larry brings with him a vast knowledge of music, worship and praise.  He was the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church of Jackson for many, many years.  He and his wife, Sandy, live in Madison.
