Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, an organization established by Franklin Graham (Billy Graham's son). Operation Christmas Child has delivered over 100 million shoeboxes to children around the world over the past 20+ years. Every shoebox offers an opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with a hurting child. A shoebox filled with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies tangibly demonstrates God's love to a child in need.
All throughout the year, FBC Richland collects shoeboxes full of toys and helpful items for this ministry. Each month throughout the year, we ask for a specific item to be brought. Then we have several shoebox packing parties during the year. We also serve as a drop-off center for the community, encouraging everyone in our community to participate. The mailing cost for each shoebox is $9.00. You may bring items for shoeboxes or donate to the mailing costs. When these shoeboxes are passed out, the gospel of Jesus Christ is also presented. This ministry has not only helped thousands of children, but has seen many people commit their lives to Christ.
